When you use RMC trails, please do so in a way that preserves our forest and mountain environments for others today, and for generations to come. Our area of New Hampshire is very beautiful and only a few hours’ drive from major population centers, so every hiker has an opportunity to minimize the impact of their visit.
Leave No Trace is a set of seven principles for individual conduct in backcountry environments, formulated in the 1980s through cooperation between the National Park Service, the US Fish & Wildlife Service, and the Bureau of Land Management. Now widely adopted by outdoor organizations and used in environmental education, these principles embody an active, responsible approach to care for the land, aligned with the traditions of the RMC’s volunteer pathmakers and with those of the earlier indigenous cultures inhabiting the Randolph area.
